Progress and change
Hey everyone (that one person who accidentally stumbled upon our website), just wanted to give an update of our status. We're working on the RTS, and have gotten pretty far along in the pre-development process. We've been working on our unit database, and have outlined specifics for those units and specialties and advantages, disadvantages, etc. We're to a point where we're going to start pushing toward something that's visual and playable, so that's what we're currently working on. In line with that, we're going to be revamping the website yet again, incorporating a content management system, and allowing us to have developer blogs and a place to showcase progress in a more visual way. The website revamp should be coming in the next few weeks, so stay tuned. Hasta!

Update
I've been working with another member on revamping the character classes. A shiny new PDF has been uploaded for your viewing pleasure. You can view the old one for comparison's sake here. Basically we renamed the Bandit class and got rid of some extraneous class links, such as having to be a Doctor in order to also be a pharmacist. We also added a melee class, the Assault Troopers, with the following branches noticeably named after Roman ranks. We decided that there didn't need to be 3 religions for the Priest class, so we just thought of 3 different sects of the Holy Orange religion for them to follow. Not a whole lot else that's new, other than we're still working, more slowly now, however. Perhaps some updates to come soon!

Change to the download section and new build
I decided that considering how small the source files are compared to the executable (at a massive 512 kb) that I will only be offering downloads of the source+executable (previously the executable could be downloaded without source). If you just want to play the game, ignore the source files and click the one with the fancy RW icon.

Ruling Wars build 11-05-07 is released.
Changes:
- The map now displays empty spaces as spaces, instead of '.'
- The save file is now human readable
- Multiple source files for easy editing and colaboration

Announcing: Ruling Wars Version .000000000000000001!
I'm pleased to announce that we have a very pre-alpha release of the game available to everyone. It took some hard work and dedication, but we're finally we're ready to release it. There is a little bug that only allows the Supreme Rule to win, but we're working to fix that so it's fair for every Rule. You can find the download for it here. Unzip the file that's downloaded and you will be ready to play. No installation required! We'll be adding a player's manual soon as well as an in game 'help' command, but the controls are relatively easy to figure out. Use directional commands to move your avatar (N, S, E, W). Hooray!

Updates!
Hey all. Yeah, I actually did something for once. I added a new web page here: Theories. I also updated the Rule History page and the Timeline page. We have also added a playable class: Priest. Yeah, we know, you've been waiting for us to finally realize that was an awesome class. We're implementing three religions that will be available for the priests. We have yet to think of two of them, but we for sure will be having The Church of the Holy Orange as one of them. There should be a website soon to inform you of the Teachings of the Orange. I've updated the classes page. Yeah, so that should work for now.

Rawr!
So... I just dropped 20 bucks on lunch today. It was bad. I don't even really know how I managed to do that, but I did. I was all, 'Let's go get some food. Olive Garden isn' that expensive.' Yeah, well it was. A main course and desert popped me up to $17, and then I had to add on a tip. A little rediculous, I know. Anyway, I just wanted to mention that I'm down 20 bucks, and that we're making progress (sorta). Lades.

Delays, barriers, and time off
Hello everyone. This is just a note to let everyone know that we're taking a bit of a break. I know what you're thinking, 'Again? What the heck? These guys take time off all the time? When are they gonna get this stinking game done?' Yeah, we do take time off all the time. However, this time, the break has nothing to do with our feeling like taking time off. This time, it's because we're stuck. I'm going to admit, I know very little about how to program. RedMage (or Korin, I forget which one he goes by on the front page) knows slightly more than me, but still, it's very rudimentary knowledge. We've lost two members of our team (one 3d Modeler and one general overseer), so that's also put us back a few steps. However, this break is good for us because we are sort of revamping how we're gonna do stuff in the future. We're working on getting a full PHP site up (yeah, we've said that before too), and we're finding more tools to help us out with the overall development of Ruling Wars. Also, Redmage/Korin and I are going to be taking programming classes, which will give us a better knowledge of how the heck we're gonna get this game done. Anyway, that's the news for now.

Until next update,
Jalik

One small step for man...
Hooah! Finally got this back up and running! Well what do you know? A fully functional (sort of) domain that includes the name Ruling Wars. Feels good, doesn't it? It does to me. Alright, there are going to be changes over the next few days and weeks while we get moved over to a new host. Please bear with us. And now, back to your regularly scheduled intarweb browsing.

Um... yeah...
Ok, so for those of you who haven't noticed, we (I) really don't post on this front page much anymore. The reason for that being that anything that is significant enough to post is usually posted on the front page. I'll still post here occasionally, but nothing unless it is specifically and directly related to the production of Ruling Wars. Anyway, front page is where I'll post, and you shoud check it for updates instead of this page.

GAH!!!!
/shakefist!!! I freaking HATE HATE HATE Doteasy.com. NEVER get a domain name with them or host with them. They will rip you off. It's a miracle that this site is even up. I still don't know how it can be humanly possible. Anyway, I'm thinking that since this is the first post in for-freaking-ever, I'm going to keep it light and say what a pleasure it is to finally have a website back (even though I don't know why it's working all of the sudden).

Peace,
~Jalik Motar
