Timeline


In the year 2101 A.D., there was an outbreak of war on the planet Earth. It spread quickly across the globe, and was deemed the Third World War. Nuclear warheads destroyed the face of the earth, and millions fled to colonize the moon. The war continued for 4 years, eliminating almost all life on earth. There were certain pockets of Africa that survived, and the Vatican was spared, but nuclear winter consumed the rest of the world.

In 2106, Kevan Motar and Reilly Turalyon created the Global Moon Society which governed the entire population of the moon. A period of 800 years passed, and there began to be weaknesses of the GMS, and there was unrest among the society, a military general named Colin West took command of the government in 2940 and reformed it into the Grand Rule, which was an empire that ensured the security and prosperity of the lunar society.

The people lived in peace and prosperity for many years, and they began to see General West as a hero. But a man named David Turalyon (a relative of Reilly Turalyon), saw weaknesses in the system, and decided to form a rebellion and break away from the Grand Rule. In 2947, he formed his group of rebels into the Elite Rule, which combated the authority of the Grand Rule. The Elite Rule quickly gained power and popularity among the people of the moon.

Meanwhile, in a tribal community in Madagascar, a genetic scientist named Korbant Brischim was developing technology to improve genetics and was experimenting on local members of the tribe. A young revolutionary named Herath Zeldmond despised Brischim, and vowed to put an end to the cruel experiments. Zeldmond eventually stole the research and materials of Brischim, and went into hiding. Brischim was furious and sent everyone in his militia to find Zeldmond and kill him. The militia eventually found Zeldmond’s wife and child and killed them. Zeldmond had seen the killings take place, and swore that he would destroy Brischim and his following. He sought out Turalyon and begged for assistance. Turalyon also knew of Brischim’s experiments and also held him in contempt. Turalyon agreed to supply Zeldmond and his followers with arms and defense, and the two battled with Brischim. Eventually, Zeldmond captured Brischim and had him executed. He then created the Quantum Rule in 2970, which would be based on responsibly engineering genetics.

During his time in solitude, however, Zeldmond developed a serum that reversed the effects of aging, and kept someone in their prime, which was around the age of 30 to 35. As a sign of gratitude to Turalyon, he gave him the serum, so that Turalyon would be able to live in his prime for nearly 2000 years. Turalyon in turn gave the serum to his second-in-command, Jalik Motar (a relative of Kevan Motar).

Motar became obsessed with power, and being in command of the Dynamix Sub-Rule was no longer appealing to him. So he declared his independence and broke away from the Elite Rule and formed the official Dynamix Rule in 2976. The second in command of the Dynamix Rule, Logan Noraan, began to get jealous of Motar, so he too broke away from the Dynamix Rule and created the Imperial Rule in 2985. Shortly after, Motar reformed the once Democratic Rule into a Fascist one, calling it the Cardinal Rule in 2986.

A long time supporter of the Grand Rule, Korin Arqusnoi saw the logic owning his own Rule, so he declared independence and formed the Supreme Rule in 3000. His associate in politics, Shaske Rakhlin followed suit and formed the Sovereign Rule in 3002.

West, realizing that he needed to take action against the rising rebellions, ordered each of the Rules to surrender. Instead, the Rules declared war on the Grand Rule, beginning the first Galactic War in the spring of 3010. After countless casualties from all the Rules, finally a peace treaty was signed June 18, 3018. In 3020, West called all the leaders of the new Rules together and formed the Ruling Rules council, insuring peace between the Rules, but most importantly setting the precedent of a non-war agreement between the Grand Rule and all the other Rules.

It took 40 years for everything to settle down after the Galactic War, but in time, in 3050, there began a Golden Age of peace and prosperity to those living on the moon and Earth. The Rules flourished, and the population grew. The once small population of only a few million had now grown to well past 500 million. All seemed well.

But 50 years later, on the night of September 23, 3101, each Rule violated the treaty and declared war on one another. The race to be the best Rule began, and with it came the Ruling Wars.

The six Rules formed two empires. The Supreme, Cardinal and Imperial Rules organized together under the Tyrann Empire, while the Elite, Quantum and Sovereign Rules formed the Ikarian Empire. The two empires vowed to destroy one another.

Your quest begins in the year 3110, with the war having been going for 9 years. The Grand Rule has sent you through military training, and now your job is to pick a Rule and fight for its sovereignty!
